Budleigh in Bloom is run by a small committee of volunteers who very enthusiastically give up some of their spare time to help enhance the beautiful town of Budleigh Salterton with floral displays, and we hope that both residents and visitors can enjoy the results.
Each year we enter the South West in Bloom competition which actually involves a lot more than just floral displays. The town is judged on its cleanliness, the recycling facilities, the use of sustainable products, wildlife habitats etc. Check all this out by looking at their website www.southwestinbloom.org.uk where it is explained fully.
Fortunately we must be doing something right because we have been given a gold award in the Ayr category which covers a town of our size for 2007, 2008 and 2009. Last year we were also awarded with the McDonalds Trophy for the best coastal entry in the South West, quite an achievement. We could not do this without the support of our local Town Council, Streetscene, EDDC and the County Council and most of all our sponsors and volunteer helpers.
